Synopsis
“Borrow your fortune, take everything you have.” When Chen Mo bought a strange bronze casket at an underground auction, he had no idea it contained a contract from hell. Five yellowed talismans bore a set of chilling terms written in cinnabar: with just one drop of blood, the five ghost messengers could bring you ill-gotten wealth.
The first time, he lost his memories of his first love.
The second time, he lost the protective charm his mother had given him before she died.
The third time, he discovered he could no longer taste food.
The debt collectors stopped coming, and the balance in his bank account kept growing. But Chen Mo was horrified to discover that every bill he had “borrowed” carried the misfortune of its original owner. Worse still, the pale-faced ghost messenger among the five, who had always kept silent, was looking at him more and more like a man who was about to die.
When he finally tried to stop, a line of bloody writing appeared on the back of the contract: “The Five Ghosts Bring Wealth. No Escape Until Death.” Now, before he lost his soul, he had to find the Taoist priest who had created this technique three hundred years ago and then mysteriously vanished. According to legend, he was the only one ever to escape the Five Ghosts unscathed.
