Pei Tangping starts a company with just one goal in life: lose money, go bankrupt, and lie flat.
He takes on projects guaranteed to lose money, signs contracts designed to drive people away, and endorses products that won't sell. He does everything he can to run the company into the ground, but every employee turns out to be a genius.
He turns “incompatible values” matching into a hobby-based way to find people to slack off with, and the dating app becomes a hit. He turns sleep-aid services into recordings of the boss making empty promises, and customers rush to order them. Even his own gloomy-faced endorsement, meant to put people off, makes sales of a struggling product soar a hundredfold.
Instead of losing money, he earns a trillion. His attempt to slack off makes the company a global model for fighting the rat race. As Pei Tangping watches the company's market value skyrocket, he cries and begs for bankruptcy: “I really just want to lose money!”
Employees: “The boss's obsession with losing money is our ultimate secret to making it big.”
This absurd entrepreneurial comedy pits a boss doing everything he can to sabotage the business against employees finding ever more creative ways to bring in revenue. It goes from taking the country by storm to conquering the world, then from Earth all the way to the universe. The more he tries to lose, the more he rakes it in!
This book is very interesting and very imaginative.
