Journey to the West: I’m Really Not the Great Sage Equal to Heaven

I transmigrated into Journey to the West and became a demon monkey.

I awakened the Demon King Watermelon Knife, along with the divine powers of the Six-Eared Macaque.

I thought I was the reincarnation of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven,

so I strutted around arrogantly, calling myself the Great Sage, and fought my way to Flower-Fruit Mountain.

That was when I met the real Sun Wukong.

I drew my blade and charged, ready to settle which of us was the fake.

He promptly pinned me to the ground and beat me senseless.

The next second, I dropped to my knees,

hugged his leg, and burst into tears:

“Brother Monkey! You really are Brother Monkey!”

Everyone: ???

Wukong: ???

Me: Clinging to his leg, never letting go!

From then on, I gave up being the Great Sage and became Brother Monkey’s most loyal underling.

It wasn’t until Lingyun Crossing that I learned the greatest secret of the Western Heaven:

The Tang Monk who dies crossing the river is the real one. The one who becomes a Buddha is the Golden Cicada.

I gripped my Watermelon Knife, stood in front of my master, and looked up at the sky:

“Today, nobody is killing my master!”

Defying fate starts with hanging on to Brother Monkey’s leg!
