Clear-headed, composed prime minister's daughter from Jiangnan × ruthless, tender-hearted crown prince skilled in political intrigue
Su Jinse, the prime minister's legitimate daughter, returns home from Jiangnan. She seems gentle and fragile, but in truth she's clear-headed, composed, and full of hidden depths.
When her stepmother, Madam Dou, and stepsister, Su Jinyan, make trouble for her, she calmly resolves every problem. At a palace banquet, she dazzles everyone, making a name for herself in the capital overnight and securing her position.
Crown Prince Xiao Chengyu wields power over the court. Cool, ruthless, and hard to read, he has never shown the slightest tenderness to anyone else, yet he falls for her at first sight.
He supports her from the shadows and protects her in silence, waiting for the selection banquet to personally ask the emperor for an imperial decree and, as crown prince, officially marry this proud daughter of Jiangnan into the Eastern Palace.
After their wedding, the two join forces as equals, decisive and merciless.
They bring down the vicious Madam Dou and deal with the hypocritical Su Jinyan,
then sweep through the imperial harem and the court, tearing down the empress and eliminating the second prince.
As they dig deeper, they finally uncover the truth behind the tragic deaths of Su Jinse's birth mother and Xiao Chengyu's mother. The wronged are vindicated, and they come to rule the realm.
