From the Start, I Returned and Used My Talent Tree to Conquer the City

Tired of killing, the legendary soldier king Jiang Xiao retires and returns to the city. He plans to scrape by as a “bounty hunter” who does the job for a price, but accidentally gets swept into a wealthy heiress's family feud. He discovers that the world is undergoing a spiritual qi revival, and ancient martial arts families are throwing their weight around. Jiang Xiao awakens a mysterious “Dark Talent Tree” within him. Through physical contact or defeating an opponent, he can devour their “vital blood” and “martial fortune” to fuel the tree, unlocking god-tier talents such as critical strikes, X-ray vision, and teleportation. He puts on the comical, money-grubbing persona of a man who says, “Pay me enough, and I'll even kill a god for you.” In truth, he not only protects the down-on-her-luck heiress, but also rallies his old brothers to shatter the great families' monopoly by the most ruthless means, crushing every sanctimonious so-called righteous sect beneath his feet and establishing an order of his own: the “Nightfall.”
