The Thunder God of the Nine Heavens and the Goddess of Fate broke the Covenant of Creation by falling in love as twin souls. Punished, they were cast into the mortal world to undergo tribulations. He became Sa Jian, a cool, composed physician skilled in both civil and martial arts. She became Shi Meizhu, a spirited and kind-hearted butcher's daughter. Though they met as strangers, their hearts still spoke to each other. He took in the orphan Wang E, teaching him to guard his heart and uphold the Way, and eventually raised him to become the foremost Spirit Official of the Three Realms. As evil spirits rose amid the chaos of war, the two resisted Heaven in mortal bodies, shattered the chains of fate with their love, and reunited their destinies as one.
