The Wei Mansion of a Noble Family

[Ensemble cast of women] The five stunning young women of the Wei family are each fierce and formidable in her own way. Wei Yiming, the eldest legitimate daughter, is determined to take charge of the household and wield its power. She plans every move with care. If anyone dares harm the Wei family or her sisters, she calmly ensures they meet a miserable end; The second young lady, Wei Huijun, is gentle, graceful, dignified, and wise, a woman of clear judgment whom men can only admire from afar; The third young lady, Wei Xuanling, prefers armor to makeup. With the fiery spirit of a wandering heroine, she excels at riding and archery and can hold her own in a fight. Her sharp edge makes her a noblewoman no one in the capital dares provoke lightly; The fourth young lady, Wei Xiansu, is innocent, sweet, and kindhearted, with a guileless charm. She's the Wei family's warmest little ray of sunshine, and the one they cherish most; Their cousin, Su Wanning, is a wild rose who blazed her way from Jiangnan to the capital. Bold and forthright, with a tongue as sharp as a blade, she dares challenge young noblemen and stand up to princes. When the spring hunt begins, the capital's noble young men all make their appearance: The Crown Prince is charming, Prince Jing is inscrutable, Wen Jingheng is gentle, Meng Shu is aloof, Jiang Cheng is valiant, Song Qi is unruly, and Pei Wang is breathtakingly handsome… Some make gentle advances, some set traps of the heart, some watch over them in silence, and some use their power to force their hand. The whole capital is betting on whom the women will marry and which powerful family they'll attach themselves to. But no one knows that they've never planned to rely on men. They won't be climbing vines in secluded mansions, birds caged in noble houses, or women borrowing a man's path to success. They'll match wits, test their courage, and show their mettle, carving out their place in the capital's treacherous power games as they protect their family, stand by their sisters, and take charge of their own lives. In this contest of power in the capital, the quarry is the beasts of the forest, the real battle is against the darkness in people's hearts, and the prize is control over their own destinies.
