Judging the Future

I was bound to the Judgment System, which let me execute criminals from the future, until I was forced to livestream the killing of a saint. His crime? He would destroy the entire city three months from now. When I became public enemy number one, the System warned me that all the data had been tampered with, and even my revenge was part of a designed experiment.

More terrifying still, a civilization from the future is using the System to screen for “worthy humans,” and failed judges are dying one after another. In my next trial, I have to figure out whether the villain before me is a devil who deserves to die or an innocent person framed with an implanted crime. One wrong choice, and I become an executioner. Refuse to judge, and the System will kill me on the spot.
