The story takes place in a modern city "Hailin City" that is no different from the real world. However, a phenomenon called "Emotional Resonance Syndrome" (ERS) is quietly spreading. Extreme human emotions are no longer empty psychological activities, but energy that can interfere with reality in physical form. Extreme anger may cause the temperature of a local space to rise sharply, deep sadness can condense the air into icy dewdrops, and fanatical joy can promote abnormal growth of plants.
