I'm a Judge in the Underworld, and Even Hongjun Has to Pass the Civil Service Exam

[Twists on the Usual Tropes + Invincible Protagonist + Government Office Politics + Hilarious]

After transmigrating into the Primordial World, Lin Xian became the underworld's last judge. He had hoped to coast through work, but discovered the underworld was buried in fraudulent accounts, the Six Paths of Reincarnation were falling apart, and the gods and Buddhas treated the place like an incense-offering cash machine.

The Heavenly Dao, Hongjun, wants to start an Investiture of the Gods tribulation?

Lin Xian: “You don't get to decide how this tribulation works. You can make an Investiture of the Gods list for the Heavenly Court, and I'll make one for the underworld. Without my permission, not a single immortal gets on the list!”

The Buddha of Mount Ling proclaims the rewards of good deeds in the next life?

Lin Xian: “Seal the Great Thunderclap Monastery for illegal construction, and send Tathagata to the Meng Po Soup Factory to make soup! You can enjoy those rewards yourself first!”

In the end, Lin Xian split open the gates of the Zixiao Palace with a single sword strike and slapped an exam admission ticket against Hongjun's trembling face.

“Hongjun, you always said the Heavenly Dao was the law. Now let me teach you what the underworld's rules are.”

“Quit dawdling. You seriously violated the rules before, so if you want to earn a living in the underworld, you'll all have to start by taking the civil service exam at the grassroots level! If you fail, get over to the banks of the Wangchuan River and help Tathagata chop firewood!”

The Primordial World isn't under Heaven's control. It's under mine! Want to be reincarnated? Show me your exam admission ticket!
