A boy from an abandoned mining town went from delivering late-night snacks to a bathing center to recording his journey with the gangsters.
A mine collapsed in a mining town, with dead people lying underneath and debts falling on the living. Zhao Xingchuan grew up near the subsidence area, and just wanted to make a living, but during a "delivery" he saw the real wellhead, and was led by Qi Dui, a group of people who were half Jianghu and half outside the system, into another road: collapsed mines, cable trenches, abandoned warehouses, natural caves in mountains and forests, underground rivers in reservoirs, old grassland cities, overseas black markets... Behind every pit is an account.
There are fatal accounts: mining disasters, collapses, and dead people being filled up;
There are accounts that require money: shares from contractors, cargo owners, and black market bosses;
There are also accounts of love: Zhou Xiaoqin, Xiao tide, and the women passing by on the road.
Xiao tide is a "serious person" from the city who leads his father's cultural relics case to find out the truth; Xingchuan is a dilettante from a mining town. While learning to read the wind and listen to the sound of water, he tries to figure out how many debts he can repay in his life in the gaps between the world and the system.
This is not a cool story where the main character is invincible. Every time I go down, some people are injured, some leave, and some come up carrying invisible things; every time I come back, I have to recalculate the journey, people, and accounts all over again in a noodle shop, a rental house, or a hard sleeper on a train, with a bowl of noodles and a cigarette.
