[Top Western-medicine PhD hero and outwardly calm, inwardly steely traditional Chinese medicine heroine + happy ending + devoted to each other + equally formidable + love that grows over time]
Lin Wan, a naturally beautiful wellness blogger, challenges the pinnacle of Western medicine with a few silver needles…
She is Lin Wan, the sole heir to an ancient school of traditional Chinese medicine, calm as still water and blessed with astonishing medical skill.
He is Lu Beichen, the “hands of God” in cardiac surgery, as cold and exacting as ice, with an unquestioning faith in data.
She uses visualized qi and meridians to diagnose patients, and he scoffs. (“That’s witchcraft!”)
She uses ancient prescriptions to reverse terminal illnesses, and he grits his teeth. (“It has to be a coincidence!”)
She uses golden needles to tether the soul and prolong life, and his whole world crumbles. (“I… need an explanation!”)
He falls into her “trap” step by step, going from “critic” to “protector,” and finally becoming her devoted puppy of a fanboy!
Lu Beichen, looking solemn: “Dr. Lin, I have a difficult case from tonight’s Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon that needs one-on-one tutoring.” His ears turn red.
