The County Magistrate Is So Rich, Zhu Yuanzhang Can’t Sit Still!

In the fourth year of the Hongwu era, Shen Lang, magistrate of Qingxi County, was reported by an urgent courier from eight hundred li away: “He's embezzled millions, overstepped every limit, and made the county offices more luxurious than the imperial palace!”

Zhu Yuanzhang slammed his hand on the table and personally led the Embroidered Uniform Guard on an incognito investigation, swearing to skin this “corrupt official alive.”

But when Zhu Yuanzhang arrived in Qingxi County, he was stunned.

The cement roads were smooth as mirrors, the streetlamps shone all night, and the public toilets were cleaner than the imperial study.

The smiling townspeople wore new clothes. “Magistrate Shen? He's our living god of wealth!”

The tavern owner grabbed the emperor and started chatting. “Are you here to join the ‘Heaven on Earth’ membership too, sir? There's a waiting list!”

Zhu Yuanzhang barged into the county offices and saw Shen Lang lounging with his legs crossed, eating a little cake he'd never seen before.

“Old Zhu, the account books are over there. Take a look for yourself.”

Old Zhu? Zhu Yuanzhang was so furious his nose nearly twisted out of shape!

After a hundred lifetimes of good deeds without a good ending, Shen Lang died and transmigrated to the third year of the Hongwu era in the Ming dynasty. Heaven granted him compensation: a Pleasure System that could materialize anything he used. Shen Lang only wanted to be a magistrate who could enjoy the good life, but entertainment was so limited in ancient times that he had to build it himself. Zhu Yuanzhang began investigating him as a corrupt official, setting off a legendary life in which emperors came to him for advice, he enjoyed his freedom, and the Ming dynasty went on to colonize the world.
