After the Divorce, President Lu Crawls Until His Legs Give Out

In their three years of marriage, Gu Wanyi spent all three being Lu Tingyuan’s devoted doormat.

He gave her the status of Mrs. Lu, but also subjected her to the coldest silent treatment. He only came to her room once a month on her fertile days, as if completing a mechanical transaction.

Everyone mocked her for sitting in the henhouse without laying eggs. Even the housekeeper dared to give her dirty looks.

Then his first love made a grand return.

He spent lavishly on her and got drunk over her late at night. Their rumored affair dominated the financial headlines day and night.

Gu Wanyi watched the way he gazed tenderly at his first love on TV. It was a warmth she had spent three years trying and failing to earn.

At last, she gave up hope and signed the divorce papers. All she wanted was her freedom, and she left with nothing.

When the news reached Lu Tingyuan, he was celebrating his first love’s birthday.

He smashed his wineglass and sneered, “What’s she making a fuss about? She’ll come crawling back tomorrow.”

Until he returned home

All her belongings were gone. She’d left her ring behind, but even the plants she’d raised for three years were gone.

Lu Tingyuan went completely mad.

Red-eyed, he cornered her outside her new company, only to see a rising business tycoon sheltering her behind him.

The man smiled. “Mr. Lu, Wanyi is my partner now, and the woman I intend to pursue.”

Gu Wanyi looked at him like a stranger. “Move. You’re blocking my light.”

Later, Lu Tingyuan knelt in the pouring rain and begged her to take him back.

Gu Wanyi leaned down beneath her umbrella, her voice as gentle as a blade:

“Mr. Lu, you’re kneeling in the wrong place.”
