Lovers of the Underworld

At an unremarkable secondhand shop, owner Cheng Yanglu doesn't get the benefactor she's been waiting for. Instead, she gets her "ill-fated match": homicide detective Meng Yuqiao.

Whenever Cheng Yanglu sees the cool, beautiful woman, she gives her the cold shoulder. Meng Yuqiao doesn't care. She holds out a photo on her phone. "Take a look. Can you find him?"

"No. Don't know," Cheng Yanglu says, refusing without even looking up.

Meng, the great beauty, furrows her brow and boldly lifts Cheng Yanglu's chin with one hand, fixing her with a piercing stare. "I'll give you one more chance. You'd better take a good look."

What a beautiful face! Cheng Yanglu has never seen her this close before, and her words start to stumble. "Y-you, let's talk this out. Don't get so close."

Ugh, that damned heartbeat. Make it stop...

She knew this woman was trouble, but somehow they still had to meet. There was no escaping her.

Being freeloaded off day after day would be bad enough, but she was the proprietor of a little fortune-telling and feng shui shop, after all!

Hmph. Sooner or later, she'll bring this enchantress to heel!
