Linghua, an immortal lord feared throughout the Primordial Three Realms, is sharp-tongued and ruthless, and no one dares cross her.
One day, curious to read a storybook from the underworld, she is casually tricked by the unscrupulous King of Hell and kicked into the cycle of reincarnation.
When she opens her eyes, she has transmigrated into the body of Xu Linghua, a timid fifty-year-old peasant woman in a remote ancient village, abused until she is on the brink of death.
Her abusive husband, her cruel mother-in-law, her spoiled brats, and a whole crowd of awful relatives have tormented the original owner day after day.
The once exalted immortal lord has become a worn-out old woman everyone can slap and scold?
What a joke!
Would a big shot who once roamed the Three Realms without fear put up with mortal indignities?
She slaps her wicked mother-in-law, beats the scumbag with the sole of her shoe, and verbally demolishes every gossiping busybody in the village. Anyone who picks a fight gets dealt with.
An abusive husband? She divorces him and walks away in style.
Terrible in-laws? She takes them all in hand and settles every old score one by one.
To escape disaster, she takes her two poor daughters on the road as refugees, fighting for survival and turning her fortunes around at every step.
She thinks this is just a trial in the mortal realm, but trouble keeps rising along the way, with a fallen princess forced into a political marriage and hidden powers from every quarter making their entrances.
And that damned King of Hell? She hasn’t forgotten what he did.
Once she has raised her daughters to strength and returned to the Ninth Heaven, she’ll turn the entire underworld upside down and make the King of Hell beg forgiveness every single day!
