The night is deep.
"Ghost" is an ancient and mysterious word. It may not be a green-faced monster with fangs and a long tongue, nor may it be a vicious evil seeking revenge. It could be a gust of wind passing through the hall, a strange reflection flashing in the mirror, or the creepy whisper that comes from nowhere when you return from a dream at midnight.
This anecdote is woven from countless such moments. It contains short stories from different corners and different eras. Some originate from word of mouth, with a strong flavor of life and fireworks; some are pure imagination and fiction, examining the dark side of human nature under a supernatural magnifying glass. Every story is a half-open door, behind which lies a unique "ghost" world.
To read these stories, there is no need to sit still and get to the bottom of things. Just find a quiet corner in the dead of night, dim the lights, and let your thoughts drift away with the words. When you feel a chill on the back of your neck, or inadvertently glimpse the shadow in the corner, please don't panic. It may just be "them" in the story sending you the most "kindest" greetings.
Finally, remember an age-old piece of advice: Stories may end, but fear sometimes lingers. After closing the page, if you hear strange noises under the bed, or see something you shouldn't see in the mirror, please take a deep breath and silently say, "This is just a story." Although you and I both know that some stories may be the reflection of reality.
