[A ruthless male lead who always gets even, isn’t a goody-goody, keeps his wits about him, and mercilessly takes down every scoundrel]
An excerpt from Chapter Five: The Slaps Ring Out:
Granny Deaf and Yi Zhonghai came in.
Gao Weidong sat smoking, without even looking up.
Granny Deaf planted her cane on the floor. “You little bastard! Where’s Zhu?”
Gao Weidong stood and slapped her.
“Smack!”
The old woman staggered. Yi Zhonghai shouted, “Security is beating up an old woman!”
Gao Weidong wheeled around and slapped Yi Zhonghai. “Go on, shout! Keep shouting! Call the police!”
A security guard peered in from the doorway, saw Gao Weidong, and quickly ducked back out of sight.
“Granny Deaf, you’ve run out of favors.” Gao Weidong advanced on her. “Director Yang’s secretary didn’t come with you, which means you’re nobody.
Curse me again and see if I don’t haul Silly Zhu back the moment he steps outside.”
He turned to Yi Zhonghai. “You impotent old bastard. Have you been in that courtyard so long you’ve forgotten your place?
If you’re unhappy, go hang yourself outside my house. If you dare die, I dare bury you. I’ll set off firecrackers to send you off on the day of your funeral!”
I'm used to seeing those magically modified Siheyuan, this is the first book from this perspective. Indifference, greed, unspoken rules, power manipulation, clinging... These may seem like derogatory terms, but are they actually laws of survival? When you are arrogantly eating cold steamed buns and drinking cold water in the cold basement, and with disdainful eyes and mocking tones, you talk about how those bastards who bend over and flatter you are trying their best to fawn over you, but in the blink of an eye they look at you coldly, the strong contrast between the pictures reflects the coldness of the word "alive". Is it because I have a strong spirit and ignores it, and I am sober when the world is drunk, and live a life of poverty? Or is it that I stay down and be a child, hug my thighs tightly and be my little brother for a few years, waiting for the wind to come, and soaring into the sky? Everyone has their own way of living, whether right or wrong! Life is not easy!
Let's throw the big ear scraper to the deaf old lady, and give me five stars by the way.
Is it you? "Shabu-boiled mutton" "I don't care if there are bad people in its eyes, and I don't care if it follows others." Gao Weidong said slowly, "As long as it hears my voice and runs over quickly, it is a good dog." He looked at Lin Guoer. "When you understand these few sentences, you will be at the associate level. Learn from it, it is all wisdom.
There are little ants in the book, the shadow of Feng Bin
