Lan Yunche is the third young lady of the Gusu Lan Clan and the twin sister of the refined and honorable Lan Wangji. Though they are twins, their personalities couldn’t be more different.
During lectures, she got along especially well with Wei Wuxian. The two were always either stealing birds’ eggs or hunting pheasants, much to Lan Qiren’s dismay.
But their peaceful days didn’t last. The Wen Clan was overwhelmingly powerful, dominating the land, and the Gusu Lan Clan was the first to suffer. In a single night, her eldest brother was gravely wounded and vanished, while her second brother’s leg was broken and he was forcibly taken to the Wen Clan for lectures. Only Lan Yunche remained, pursued relentlessly by Wen Clan soldiers. Just as despair overwhelmed her, a mysterious person appeared and saved her.
Before she could repay her rescuer, however, they drew the Wen Clan search party away and disappeared without a trace. To find the person who had saved her life, Lan Yunche fought bravely in the Sunshot Campaign, all for the chance to learn what had become of them.
After her friend Wei Wuxian was besieged by the cultivation clans, Lan Yunche seemed to grow up overnight. She became much more composed and quiet, gradually growing more like Lan Wangji.
But she never stopped searching. She spent years traveling, all to find the person who had saved her life.
Then, one day, an accident brought her to an unknown world.
