The spirit demon fled and, five years later, established a sanctuary of her own on the sea. By the time they met again, their misunderstanding had been cleared up, and neither could forget the other. At Chongbi Terrace, a thousand-mile journey to deliver the medicine could not overcome the grudges and passions that had separated them by mountains and rivers.
In a great fire, the spirit demon ascended. Looking back, she finally understood that on that winter's day at the sacrificial altar, there had been two gods kneeling there.
The God of Fate said, “The mortal emperor in this world is a great god from the Upper Realm, sent down to refine his nature through a trial. He is just like you, Divine Lord.”
“My Father God gave me a chance at fortune and destiny, and the Heavenly Dao gave me a trial in return. Meeting Ji Man was a trial; loving him without being able to have him was another.”
