In a wasteland world where "void rifts" have devoured most of civilization, alien beasts are rampant, and technology and supernatural forces coexist, the protagonist Lin Xiao, a scavenger crawling around in garbage dumps, accidentally activates the broken "all things upgrade system." This system does not improve its own attributes, but can conceptually upgrade any "mortal object" it touches.
At first, Lin Xiao could only upgrade some gadgets: his old crowbar was upgraded into a "tremor blade" that can release micro shock waves; the scrapped drone he picked up was upgraded into a "reconnaissance swarm" with rudimentary artificial intelligence and self-defense beams. Each upgrade was accompanied by strange special effects and unexpected functional expansions, allowing him to quickly gain the power to protect himself from a low-level person who could be bullied by others.
