When the System permanently freezes Lin Wan, the “perfect wife,” after her husband Shen Ke’s affection score reaches its limit, she launches the “Affection Destruction Plan” to get home, only to discover that she and the man beside her are both characters in the System’s script.
She makes a scene, and he indulges her and plays along. Until she discovers that the devotion in his mind is code, the affection score before her eyes is a trap, and even her “rebellion” is part of the experiment.
“The System wants to watch us love and destroy each other.” On a rainy night, he held her trembling hand, his voice as calm as a program. “Then let’s give it a show.”
So the slaps and kisses were all part of the act, and the betrayals and protection were merely lines. Under surveillance, they played out a tortured romance, while in the dark they exchanged information through coded messages.
When the System’s final command arrived: “Kill each other in exchange for freedom.”
They raised their guns to each other’s foreheads, yet behind their backs their fingers tapped out the same code:
“Option three: kill God.”
