Yantian was once a marginal disciple of the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion. Born without six of his senses, he could not learn the core arts of divining the secrets of fate, and was eventually cast out by his sect, becoming an outcast whom no one in the cultivation world cared about. In his darkest hour, he stumbled upon the Heavenly Evolution Compass in an ancient ruin. The compass could overcome the deficiencies of his senses, allowing him to divine the past and future and avoid misfortune.
During a deep divination, Yantian glimpsed a cataclysm that would engulf the cultivation world within a century: the Heavenly Dao would shatter, and all realms would fall silent. To prevent the disaster, he traveled across the countless domains of the cultivation world with the compass, traversing dangerous lands in search of those destined to face the calamity. Using the compass as his guide, he gradually laid out a grand formation spanning heaven and earth. Along the way, he faced treacherous enemies and skepticism from his former sect, but he used the compass to overcome every crisis and unite those destined to confront the calamity. At last, when disaster struck, Yantian used himself as a conduit to channel the power of the Heavenly Dao through the compass. He gathered the formation’s power to avert the crisis, then merged with the Heavenly Dao and became the Daoist of Heavenly Evolution.
