Ashes in the Misty River

This is a story about a life torn apart by the need to appear "respectable." Amid the cold, damp river mist of southern Sichuan, 30-year-old clothing store owner Ming Chu leaps from the Yangtze River Bridge. All that remains on the bridge is a phone, a pack of Lotus-brand cigarettes, and a Chanel-style jacket. The cause of death remains a mystery. (This story is entirely fictional. Any resemblance is purely coincidental.)
