Shen Xiaotian, a wealthy young man trained in German military tactics, crosses paths with Tiezhu, a butcher’s son. One is a top student who studied in Germany; the other is a fierce fighter from humble roots. They battle from the recruit camp to the blood-soaked fields of Taierzhuang, where they also face Shen Xiaotian’s former classmate in Germany, their Japanese nemesis Yamamoto Ichiro. After demotions, taking the blame for others, and desperate escapes from death, the two men, so different in temperament, learn to trust each other with their backs amid the smoke of war. Through eight years of resistance, they go from sworn enemies to the “Twin Demons,” finally making their nemesis pay for his blood debts and writing a legendary tale of iron and blood spanning a century!
