In the last years of Daoguang's reign, on a rainy night in Foshan, fourteen-year-old Chen Canghai's family was ruined and he was wandering the rivers and lakes with half a broken jade in his arms. On the verge of death, the mysterious master Gu Cansheng taught him the mental method of "The Picture of Hundred Skeletons" and the ghost hands of the underworld. He also remembered the teaching of "Martial arts is the right way, and don't let the common people down", and then embarked on the path of martial arts.
During the national humiliation of Sino-Japanese War, the Treaty of Shimonoseki was signed, and Chen Canghai painfully realized the responsibility of "casting souls and strengthening seeds". He founded the Rongwu Sect in Shanghai, integrating martial arts from the north and the south, introducing Western medical science, and using martial arts to strengthen the body of the people and awaken the soul of the nation.
In troubled times, he circled between the reform, revolution and the Qing court: he protected the patriots during the 1898 Movement, exposed falsehoods during the Boxer Rebellion, and went north to protect refugees and cultural heritage when the Eight-Power Allied Forces invaded China. Master Kuchen died for his country, which further strengthened his determination to protect the country and bring peace to the country.
During the storm of 1911, he led his family to help Shanghai recover and settle half-life grievances. After the Republic of China was established, he refused to serve as an official and returned to the people. He wrote "Wuhai Exploring the Truth" to spread the true meaning of martial arts. After the restoration of the Yuan family, the warlords' melee, and the May Fourth movement, at the age of over seventy, he still took the stage to shout "Strengthen our race and strengthen the soul of our country", leading future generations forward.
From wandering in Daoguang to shouting in the Republic of China, Chen Canghai entered the world with force and promised the country with his heart. His life is not only an epic of a warrior's training, but also a heroic journey of a nation awakening from crisis and holding up the moral torch in the darkness. As long as a martial artist is old, his soul will be with the common people; if his martial arts knowledge is exhausted, his country's soul will have no boundaries.
