In troubled times, Shen Ci, the first female shopkeeper in the capital, runs a mysterious pawn shop that "only treats dead objects, not living people". One night, Xie Wuwang, the former deposed prince and now the number one fugitive, was seriously injured and broke into a pawn shop, using "himself" as a pawn in exchange for Shen Ci's protection. Shen Ci took a fancy to his peerless martial arts and hidden value, so he made an exception and took him in.
In the early stage, Shen Ci used Xie Wuwang's force to deal with shopping mall rivals and local bullies, while Xie Wuwang escaped pursuit under the cover of Shen Ci's wisdom. The two developed feelings for each other through repeated trials and uses.
In the middle period, Xie Wuwang's identity was exposed, and Shen Ci never left him, spending all his wealth to help him recruit troops and organize the court.
In the later period, Xie Wuwang regained power, but was estranged from Shen Ci due to misunderstanding. Shen Ci ran away with the ball (or faked his death to escape), while Xie Wuwang went crazy to search. In the end, the two untied their knots, worked together to settle old accounts, and ascended to the top.
