Folklorist Chen Mo came to the isolated shadow town to investigate a bizarre disappearance. The townspeople are warm and hospitable, but they follow strange "shadow puppet rules": you must go home after dark, you cannot look directly at the shadow, and you must perform "shadow plays" on the fifteenth day of every month. Chen Mo discovered that all the missing people in the town had violated the rules. When he tried to uncover the truth, his shadow began to move independently - it would smile at him under the moonlight.
