The Riverside Years of Three Generations

I finished reading this book in one day, and the delicate writing made me cry many times. When I read the story about my stepfather, I suddenly felt empathy for my father-in-law's life. The boy who was supposed to have a bright future back then gave up the college entrance examination in 1980 for the sake of his family. He was not good at words but cared about his family most of his life. However, he never gained the favor of his parents. Even the children have not received much love from other generations, which is really heartbreaking. It turns out that some grievances and regrets will really be engraved in the bones and blood, affecting two generations.

A very real novel with a strong sense of immersion. I will cry when I read the touching parts.

It is a really good book, with depth, fireworks, love, the acrimony between relatives, the sadness of graduation and work, and the tenacity and original intention after growing up. Very real and very positive. I feel warm in my heart after reading it.

It is close to reality, yet very warm, the plot is compact and not procrastinating, the characters are three-dimensional and have distinct personalities. There are no great characters. Gossip is human nature. The rural people gathered together love crickets, but the neighbors are harmonious. If a family has trouble, support from all directions will come. There is no right or wrong in life, everyone has their own difficulties
