"Word Invasion" self-review After writing the four volumes of the main story of "Word Invasion" and imagining three additional directions, I wanted to do an honest review of the world I created. It's not a "creation talk" or a "postscript", but a self-examination from the position of a bystander - what exactly was written about this story, how well it was written, and what regrets there are. --- 1. The topic I want to talk about most: Unfinished Reconciliation The seed of "Word Invasion" comes from a very simple question: Those abandoned characters, those stories that stop halfway through writing, those characters who can never wait for the ending - will they always wait? Jiang Jinyue came out of this question. She is a creator who has experienced escape, guilt, and fear, and finally had to face everything she created. And Yama is the aggregation of the resentment of all abandoned characters - he is not a villain, but an existence that longs to be remembered. This theme runs through four volumes. The first volume is about her escaping, the second volume is about her being forced to face it, the third volume is about her discovering the truth, and the fourth volume is about her learning to "listen" instead of "write". From "making the decision for the character" to "letting the character choose for himself", this arc is what I want to finish most. --- 2. The most satisfying part: the completeness of the characters Looking back, what makes me most satisfied is the "completeness" of the characters. Jiang Jinyue changed from an author who evaded responsibility to a night watchman who knew how to listen. Bai Yi went from an abandoned fragment to a free soul who found a new home. Yama goes from being a being that destroys everything to an aggregate that finally rests. Xu Xinghe changed from a hater to an understander. Gu Shanxue changed from a bystander to an anchor. Everyone has his own path to walk, his own knots to untie, and his own ending to wait for. Especially the supporting characters - Shen Qingwu, Lu Zhaoye, Xu Xingchen - even if they only have a few chapters, I try to give them a complete arc. Not a tool, but a living person. This kind of "completeness" is my requirement for my own writing: every character created deserves an ending. --- 3. The most regrettable part: rhythm control Of course, there are regrets. The most obvious one is the issue of pacing. The foreshadowing in the second volume is a little longer, and Yama's appearance could be quicker. The density of dialogue in the third volume of the force field is higher, and some passages can be tiring to read. The second half of the fourth volume is more gentle, which is different from the tension of the previous volumes. If I were to do it again, I would make the rhythm more even and the information density more reasonably distributed. In addition, the ending of the international line Alexei Volkov was a little hasty. If there is a chance to revise, it will give him more foundation. --- 4. The concept that I want to convey most: "Listening" is more important than "writing" The core solution to this story is - listen. It's not about deciding for the character, it's about asking them, "What do you want to choose?" It's not about forcing the ending, it's about helping them see the ending in their own hearts. This setting comes from my understanding of the creative process. Really good creation is cooperation, not control. Jiang Jinyue finally understood this. Chen Mo also understood. Everyone who was listened to understood. This topic is what I most want to leave to readers. --- 5. About the extra When conceiving the extra story, I chose "Bai Yi's Interstellar Drifting Diary" as the priority direction - completely imaginary, continuing popular characters, and with high emotional concentration. And Gu Shanxue's story is what I secretly want to write the most. She is not the protagonist, but she is the reason why the protagonist can go on. From learning restoration in her childhood, to meeting Jiang Jinyue, to the ninety-seven days of waiting, to her companionship in the rest of her life - she is the embodiment of the word "night watchman". Writing her story is about "how to protect someone tenderly." --- 6. Final words "Word Invasion" is about "unfinished". Unfinished story, unfinished regret, unfinished waiting. But what finally settles is "completion" - to be heard is to be completed. When Jiang Jinyue finished writing the word "unfinished", she finally understood: some stories don't need a perfect ending, but only a formal farewell. This is what I want to say to readers. If you also have an unfinished story in your heart, a character you have been waiting for, a sentence that has never been said - you might as well sit down, close your eyes, and ask: "How do you want to choose?" Then listen. Listen carefully. Maybe you'll hear the answer.

After reading "The Night Watchman Under the Ginkgo Tree", a thin layer of ginkgo leaves fell on my heart. There are actually many people like Gu Shanxue in life - quiet, silent, doing things that others cannot see. We often ignore them until we look back one day and discover the hands that have been supporting us. What moved me the most was her "no reason" protection. The undrinkable glass of water seven years ago, the three years of waiting for someone's email, and the ninety-seven days of sitting beside the hospital bed talking to myself. She never asked if it was worth it, she just did it, just waited, just stayed. Ginkgo falls slowly, so there is no sound. So does Gu Shanxue. Thank you to the author for writing about such a "slow fall" person. She reminds me of those silent night watchmen in life - it turns out that we can shine because there are people in the dark who keep the light on.
