In the 1970s, Yu Rong and his daughter Wenwen lived a difficult life in a heated kang building in Northeast China. Her husband Wen Qing was not at home and favored outsiders at every turn, which broke the hearts of mother and daughter again and again. In daily ups and downs, the mother and daughter relied on each other. Amidst the trivialities and grievances, they struggled to hold on to their own stability and survived a difficult period full of sadness.
