In an ancient country ravaged by war, the little man Chu Xuan, the scholar Xie Xiao, the female drug dealer Jia Xiaochun, the Jianghu Han Di Sandao, the mysterious fugitive Du Ye, and the aristocratic lady Liu Xieyue came together because of a misunderstanding. They are witty and optimistic, complain and support each other, and brave the sea of swords and fire. Some people come for revenge, some just want to survive, and some pursue ideals and freedom. Bound by fate, the six people constantly help each other and get along with each other, hovering in the cracks of intrigue and power. The war spreads, allies betray, life and death are unpredictable, and love and hate are intertwined; but they always use humor to resolve the suffering, and lead each other through the darkest years with a smiling attitude towards life.
