Decisive Undertaker vs. Proud and Elegant Noblewoman
Su Changhe, the fearsome patriarch of the Dark River known throughout the martial world as the "Yama," has spent half his life killing without mercy, cold and unruly. Yet deep down, he clings to the conviction that he must build a "shore beyond" for the Dark River and break the century-old cycle of slaughter. He and Fairy Chuyun, Murong Huaixu, found understanding and companionship in each other. Amid the Dark River's bloodshed and the martial world's strife, they made a home at the Nan'an Medicine House and raised their young son, Su Nian'an. He poured into his wife and child all the warmth he had been denied for half his life.
To escape the Shadow Sect's control and find the Dark River a new future, Su Changhe set out on a perilous journey to the Underworld Pawnshop with Su Muyu, head of the Su family. Using the key to the Sleeping Dragon Sword, he claimed the Dark River's century-old hidden treasure. Guided by the Three Officials, he then set his sights on the imperial city of Tianqi, where the winds of change were gathering. With life and death uncertain on the road ahead, he regarded his family as his weakness, but his love for them as his armor. He swore to overcome every obstacle and return safely to his wife and child.
Murong Huaixu stayed at the Nan'an Medicine House, concealing how much she missed her husband. With her gentleness, she kept their home warm, played with their young son, and cherished the company of friends and family.
Old scores in the Dark River, the Shadow Sect's secrets, the schemes in Tianqi, and the martial world's conflicts all became storms on the road ahead for the two of them. But the warmth of home at the Nan'an Medicine House, their little boy's repeated calls of "Daddy," and the devoted support of friends and family finally gave the cold and ruthless Yama a place to return to, and brought peace of mind to Fairy Chuyun.
