After the Obsessive Second Male Lead Awakened, He Wanted Only to Lie Flat

[Cool and aloof top x straight-laced bottom just trying to stay alive]

Lu Ling woke up one day with the entire plot of an old-school, melodramatic novel lodged in his head.

He, Lu Ling, was the novel’s most tragic, most worthless rabid dog.

For the love of the protagonist, he stalked and spied on him, giving everything he had. He lived a wretched, obsessive existence, only to die in silence one unknown dawn, clutching a cheap ring warped by fire.

Lu Ling, now knowing the whole plot: “…”

He hastily packed his bags, determined to stay far away from all the protagonists and crazies.

After thinking it over, he realized there was only one person in the entire novel who stayed clearheaded and strong from beginning to end, and even got a dignified ending: the reclusive eldest young master of the Lu family, Lu Qianyan.

In the story, this refined young master Lu had gathered the remains of a miserable wreck like him and even… buried him in the Lu family ancestral graveyard, right beside the spot Lu Qianyan had reserved for himself.

Lu Ling stared at the ceiling and had an epiphany.

Forget the protagonist, forced love, and tragic romance! To hell with all of it!

He didn’t want to become a lunatic or a sacrificial pawn. He just wanted to live a peaceful, stable life, preferably with a luxurious private burial plot thrown in.

So Lu Ling began his career of “getting close to someone powerful.”

When Lu Qianyan read, he brought him tea.

When Lu Qianyan handled business, he crouched in the corner of the study like a lucky charm.

When Lu Qianyan attended banquets, he kept a low profile and followed three steps behind.

Lu Qianyan: “…Don’t you have anything better to do?”

Lu Ling nodded earnestly. “Yes, Young Master Lu, I have loads of free time. I just want to stay with you.” To be your little sidekick and stay alive.

Lu Qianyan gazed into his eyes, which practically pleaded, “Please take me in,” and his expression darkened.
