Fierce Song: Ji Xiaolan's Trio Protects Loyal Officials and Infuriates Qin Hui

The story begins in the twelfth month of the eleventh year of the Shaoxing reign, before Yue Fei is killed at the Wind-Wave Pavilion. Huang Sanye suddenly transmigrates into Zhao Gou, determined to save Yue Fei and change history. But then he discovers that Lao Ji and Lao Er, two trusted ministers, have arrived as well, and that they control the greatest trading house and intelligence agency in the land, waiting for Sanye to show up. Du Xiaoyue and Lu Linlang are here, too. The iron triangle reunites, ready to protect loyal ministers, eliminate treacherous officials, and establish an empire for the ages.

The story's greatest appeal lies in the iron triangle's hilarious schemes. When Qin Hui frames Yue Fei, he has irrefutable evidence in hand, while the iron triangle has not a shred of proof. Yet through sheer shameless bluster, they manage to clear Yue Fei's name and drive Qin Hui mad. Their antics are even funnier when dealing with Jin envoys, whom they can send home in tears.

One thing should be clarified: the historical Qianlong cannot be considered a meritorious ruler, and could even be called a criminal against history. But Hongli in this story is based on Huang Sanye as portrayed in the TV series, and is quite different from the historical Qianlong, who launched literary purges, destroyed vast amounts of Chinese civilization, and closed the country to the outside world. Moreover, Hongli in this story takes the Southern Song's side.
