[A Shakespeare Rewrite] The Moon Will Heal

Queen + prime minister + mature men and women + conception by donor + two powerful leads + physical compatibility + dark court intrigue + a light ensemble cast + a touch of seventeenth-century Europe + a touch of alternate history

A work derived from King Lear. In Shakespeare’s original, Goneril, the eldest daughter of King Lear, competes with her sister Regan for Edmund’s affections and ultimately kills herself after Edmund dies in a duel. This story rewrites her fate. In Part One, Goneril allies with her lover, Lester Turpin, is crowned Queen of England, and becomes Queen of France. In Part Two, Goneril and Turpin struggle against the French royal family to secure their daughter’s right to inherit. In Part Three, after surviving an assassination attempt, Goneril escapes and regroups, joining forces with Turpin to plan her revenge.
