Where There's Smoke, There's Home, and Deep Love for Mengmeng

Help! Yiping from 1936 found an “emotion journal” and somehow became linked to Meng Yanchen a century in the future! They bicker and dote on each other through its pages. The more they chat, the more smitten they become, and they both cut ties with the people around them. Yiping dumps the indecisive Shuhuan, while he realizes his feelings for Xu Qin are only a sense of responsibility. Then he boldly vows that if they ever share the same era, they’ll stay together for life! Who could have guessed the Lu family would make things difficult for her, Fu Wenpei wouldn’t understand, and Lu Zhenhua would pile on the pressure with a slap? Yiping clutches the journal and jumps into the river, only to suddenly appear outside Meng Yanchen’s apartment building on a rainy night! A patriotic woman from the Republican era meets a restrained CEO, with destiny written all over them. She mistakes coffee for bitter medicine, calls cars “iron carriages,” and stomps her feet when milk tea tastes too sweet. He stocks up on oil-paper umbrellas for her, learns to make osmanthus cakes, and makes “Meng-style tenderness” second nature. Song Yan picks a fight? He fiercely protects his wife: “No one lays a hand on my woman.” She fires back with her Republican-era comebacks. Fu Wenying gives her a hard time? She wins her over with sincerity, while he stands firmly by her side: “She’s the only one I’ll ever love.” An old journal that changes color brings two people from different eras together. From confidants on the page to sharing life’s everyday joys, Meng Yanchen and Lu Yiping’s sweet romance proves that love across time can become a lifetime by each other’s side!
