The fictional Great Xia Dynasty was surrounded by powerful enemies outside and aristocratic families controlled the government inside. The imperial power was declining and the people were in dire straits. The protagonist traveled through time and became Chu Yuan, an idle prince who was relegated to "Yunzhong County", a bitter and cold place on the frontier.
