[A fairly hard-edged story in a partly fictionalized world. Read with confidence.]
In 2075, the Antarctic ice sheet ruptures, and an army of a million catgirls pours out.
The Human Federation sounds a global alarm. Tanks, aircraft, and nuclear missiles are all deployed, but the catgirls' eight-legged mechs cut through them like vegetables. In less than a year, South America falls, and several regions of Africa and Europe are hit by orbital bombardments.
War is a meat grinder. Monsters that eat people emerge in the irradiated zones, and cities become ruins. Yet the Human Federation still dreams of creating a "god" to turn the tide.
A girl treated as a test subject begins dreaming of the future. A female officer crawls out of a heap of corpses and tightens her grip on her gun. And the catgirl forces are crossing the nuclear wasteland, coming straight for them.
The war lasts 24 years, killing half of humanity. The survivors know only one thing: kill the other side, or perish together.
---No one knows that the demons are on their own side.
