When the Ultimate Lifeform Meets Kaiju No. 8

What fell from the depths of space into Tokyo was no meteorite, but the ultimate life-form Kars, who had abandoned thought for tens of thousands of years. When the Pillar Man’s arm blade sliced through Tokyo’s morning mist, and a strike at Mach 36 cut down a high-grade kaiju, the Japan Defense Force realized for the first time that the real threat was never the numbered kaiju, but this immortal creator who held the DNA of every living thing on Earth. Kafka Hibino transformed into Kaiju No. 8 and faced him, yet couldn’t even touch the hem of his clothes. Mina Ashiro’s heavy artillery barrage earned nothing but an amused look from Kars. He needed no Aja Stone and had no need to hide from the sun. The kaiju rampaging through Tokyo were merely nourishment for testing his own evolution, while the Defense Force’s strength was nothing but a pack of boring ants in his eyes. The ultimate life-form has descended upon a world overrun by kaiju. From now on, there are no more rankings, only Kars’s rules: those who submit to me will prosper; those who defy me will become dust beneath my arm blade.
