Solving the Deadly Food Plot in the Grand View Garden

Su Wan, a state banquet chef, transmigrates into the Jia family as a low-ranking maid in Grandmother Jia’s kitchen. All she wants is to use her cooking skills to stay alive. But beneath the Jia family’s splendor, its delicacies are poison wrapped in honey. Wang Xifeng’s beloved “deep-fried bones” mysteriously disappear on the night she loses her power. The “lotus-leaf soup” served at Baoyu’s birthday feast contains slow-acting poison mixed into the imperial rice. A long-lost “hangover soup” leaves two masters babbling the same crazed words before they die… Every Red Chamber dish she recreates tears away the delicious cover on a bloody crime. When she discovers, in the Jia family’s most secret recipe book, a forbidden soup said to prolong life by a full twelve years, made with “purple river carriage” as its key ingredient, a pair of hands belonging to the highest powers have already prepared a chopping board for her. “Either become my sharpest knife, or the most delicious dish at my banquet.” Su Wan grips her spatula and smiles. Then let’s see, at this banquet where life and death are the fire and power the cooking pot, who will end up being the dish on the table.
