My name is Lin Mo, and I inherited an old house and a photo album that should not be opened.
In the attic, I found a piece of yellowed letter paper with several strange rules written on it: "You must look through it in order", "Close it when you see the red shirt", "You must not talk to the photo". At first I just dismissed it as a quirk of the previous owner, until I broke rule number one - jumping the page.
That night, nightmares struck. I was horrified to find that all the people in the family portrait in the album had their eyes turned and were staring straight at me. The chill of being spied on climbed up the back of his head.
I don't believe in evil, and I have once again violated a taboo. The woman in the red wedding dress in the photo actually appeared outside my bedroom door. The old house became a maze, with blood seeping from the walls and a reflection that didn't belong to me in the mirror. With every rule broken, they get closer to reality.
I tried to burn the photo album, but it caused even greater disaster. The handwriting on the letter paper began to change, revealing the cruel truth: This photo album is a cage for resentful souls, and I, the continuation of the Lin family's bloodline, am destined to become the new "registrator."
When the woman in red put her hand on my shoulder, which was bone-chillingly cold, I saw the last line of the letter: "If you want to get rid of this misfortune, you can only use your own body to take the place of it. It will be registered as a statue and will forever guard this house."
It turns out that the price of survival is to become the next photo in the album.

Very real horror
A supernatural novel with a unique flavor. It's not about immortality. It's worth reading. It's a bit like a rules novel.
It's quite interesting. The story and plot are well connected.
