Tales of Hulin

Hulin County lies on the southeastern edge of Heilongjiang Province, beside the Ussuri River, and is a key point on the Sino-Soviet border. After occupying the area following the September 18 Incident, the Japanese turned it into the “Hutou Fortress.” They stationed a division and a brigade there in succession, along with specialized units such as engineering and aviation corps. The military, the South Manchuria Railway, and settler groups eventually outnumbered the local population, placing unprecedented pressure on the anti-Japanese forces in the Hurao region and bringing terrible suffering. The people and resistance fighters of Hurao refused to submit to Japanese brutality and waged a moving struggle. Heroes from every walk of life risked their lives and followed one another into battle. This story follows two brothers through their underground revolutionary work and extraordinary adventures, bringing their tale across the ages to us.
