When Cinnabar Has Yet to Cool

In 215 BC, Qin Shi Huang becomes obsessed with the quest for immortality and sends Xu Fu east across the sea in search of the immortals. Meanwhile, a more secretive plan quietly unfolds in the depths of the Xianyang palace: the creation of the legendary “Nine Cauldrons Cinnabar Pill,” a secret elixir said to infuse an emperor’s will into the bloodline and forge an eternal dynasty. Set in Qin Shi Huang’s final years, the story follows four characters’ perspectives to reveal an empire collapsing and being reborn in its pursuit of eternity. This is no simple historical tale, but an inquiry into power, memory, and civilization: when a dynasty tries to freeze time, how will history find a way to flow again?
