When you open your eyes in the dark, the dark sees you too.
Late one night, a package with no return address changed my life.
My name is Lin Mo. I've spent three years drifting in Haizhou, and I can't even afford my rent.
Then, on a rainy night, I received a mysterious package: a yellowed copy of the Earth Spirit Breathing Method, an ancient copper coin engraved with “Netherworld Palace,” and a photograph of my parents when they were young.
The next day, an elderly man who lived alone downstairs died under strange circumstances. His body was dried up like a corpse, and I became the police's prime suspect.
That's when I learned the truth: my parents hadn't died in a car accident. They had perished on a Kunlun expedition they should never have joined. The legendary “Kunlun bloodline” flows through my veins, and this world is far stranger than it appears to the naked eye.
To stay alive and uncover the truth about my parents' deaths, I was forced onto a path of no return:
Wielding a copper coin sword and following the Earth Spirit Breathing Method, I cultivate the Dao and slay demons in the shadows of the city;
I navigate the Xuanhuang Society, agents of the underworld, and thousand-year-old ghosts, solving one eerie mystery after another;
From the old district of Haizhou to the snowy peaks of Kunlun, from the world of the living to the netherworld, I piece together a shocking conspiracy, one step at a time.
The “severing of Yin and Yang” three hundred years ago was no natural disaster. It was caused by human hands.
And the ancient copper coin in my possession can do more than open the gates of the underworld.
It can also awaken the… terrifying beings buried beneath the dust of history.
They think I'm the prey. They don't know I'm the hunter.
