Han Cavalry Tramples the Heavenly Demons

The sands of Hexi ran red with blood. As Huo Qubing’s spear tore through the Xiongnu formation, streaks of light suddenly coiled around its shaft. The twenty-year-old General of the Agile Cavalry first glimpsed the spiritual energy of heaven and earth in the soul-devouring black mist conjured by an enemy shaman. Just as the mist was about to engulf the Han army, a sharp sword split the sky. Wei Zifu, in flowing white robes and carrying the scent of medicine, arrived. As a bronze mirror revealed the shaman’s true form, it also reflected the God of War imprint sleeping within Huo Qubing’s fate.

Deep in the Qilian Mountains, the sacrificial altar where Chanyu Yizhixie had offered a million lives rumbled. General-in-Chief Wei Qing pressed a tiger tally against the young general’s shoulder. “The streaks of light you saw are the remnants of celestial soldiers you commanded in a past life.” The tortoiseshell Zhang Qian had brought back from the Western Regions cracked open, revealing a star map that pointed to a seal dormant for a thousand years. Huo Qubing gripped his spear as golden light steamed from it. The bloodied faces of his soldiers flashed before his eyes. This time, he would use the flames of war in the mortal realm to rekindle the God of War’s destiny to slay demons.
