A Chaotic, Eerie World, But I’m Cthulhu!

I found this book when I was short of books. It seems pretty good for the time being. It is an ancient novel in the Cthulhu series. Usually Cthulhu is mostly modern. How can I put it this way? I felt a little bored at the end and felt a little frustrated. The protagonist didn't have the mystery of Cthulhu. I don't know how to evaluate it. He was always led by the boss to work hard without complaint.

It's well written, but a bit boring. It would have been nice if it was a bit weird, scary, suspenseful or pretentious.
