Every so often, a dense fog rises over the city, unseen by anyone. Tens of thousands of people vanish into it, forcibly dragged into the bizarre “Inner World.”
This is a cruel dimension that feeds on humanity. Only by completing missions with death waiting at every turn can you snatch your life back from the jaws of monsters. Fail, and your flesh becomes their dinner, while your soul turns into fuel that keeps this world running.
Everyone dragged here screams in despair. They are called “Class One Players,” or “Sacrifices.”
Mu Hao is the only exception. He wasn’t dragged here. He came willingly, jumping in because he wanted to die. That makes him the one and only “Class Two Player,” or “Invader.”
While everyone else trembles with fear, the absolutely rational personality split off from Mu Hao has already disguised itself as the System and taken control of his body. “High-risk instance detected. Hunting mode activated.” “If this world eats people, then we’ll eat this world instead.”
