The wind carried rain and snow drifting towards a tiled house made of mud and stones. There was a thick layer of snow all around the tile-roofed house, and the tiles on the beams were not very tightly covered. From time to time, the snow from outside was brought into the house, making the whole house look cold and damp.
There are many more houses like this in this village...

The writing is okay, but the main character is too innocent. Obviously the master wants to take him away. I haven't noticed it until now. He doesn't have much brains.
