[Sentinel/Guide version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith + younger man + secret identities exposed + two equally matched leads, devoted to each other + happy ending + spirit forms: orca and snow leopard + interstellar insectoid race]
Cold, taciturn, slightly unhinged Sentinel seme, Chi Mian (actually, he’s a shamelessly direct romantic)
Talkative, fussy, cheeky Guide uke, Bai Chao (actually, he’s incredibly crafty)
One day, following the guidance of metaphysics, victim Bai Chao rescued Chi Mian from beside a pond. After that, Chi Mian clung to him relentlessly.
Their compatibility was absurdly high. Figuring they might as well make the best of things, Bai Chao became Chi Mian’s neighbor, and the two started living together.
On the surface, one was a repairman and the other a pharmacy owner. Beneath their peaceful daily lives, though, turbulent undercurrents raged. To preserve the hard-won peace, they tacitly kept their pasts hidden.
Chi Mian: I’m a refugee.
Bai Chao: What a coincidence. So am I.
Then one day, the village’s (not really) peaceful existence was shattered when the valiant “warriors” of the insectoid race destroyed the planet they lived on. The two were forced to become actual refugees, and each put all their lifelong talent for making things up to use so the other wouldn’t have to suffer.
Chi Mian: I’m always fixing transport vehicles, so I’m pretty strong. That’s how I can pilot this old mech and charge through swarms of bugs again and again.
Bai Chao: I’ve dealt with plenty of difficult customers from selling medicine all the time. That’s why the survival base’s administrator trembles whenever he sees me.
Then one day, both their secret identities were exposed…
Bai Chao: Heh. You’re quite the actor.
Chi Mian: You don’t get two different kinds of people sharing a bed. Thanks for that.
[The opening chapters introduce the setting and include some author-created elements. The story takes precedence.]
[P.S. Chi’s muteness is temporary. He’ll recover soon!]
It's so beautiful, why doesn't anyone see it? [What]
